random

I have some pictures up of the new furniture, sans chair, as that still isn't in yet. You can check it out at my Dropshots site. Some of the pictures aren't very bright because we don't have good lighting in the living room (no overhead light), and they're mostly just for scale.

Work has been crazy and stressful, and it's only going to become more intense as the summer rolls in; new people signing up for cards every day, weekends are just insanely busy! On Sunday night, I didn't sit down for more than 20 minutes during my entire 9 hour shift. Urg.

The weather is warming up and making life a little easier; getting to open the windows and let in a little fresh air is always nice.

We're (Aaron and I) planning on going to Minneapolis near the end of June so I can meet some of Aaron's friends from when he went to school down there, but before we can go I'll need to get new tires for my car.

Since all of my shows had their season finales last week, I'll have nothing to catch up on in the afternoons while Aaron is at work, so it's craft time again. I have a blanket idea that I've started working on, and we'll see how that goes. I think it should work up pretty quickly, and go well with our furniture.

I don't have much else to say, just a quick update since last week. Until next time...

new living room

Last week I was told by my mom, who was told by my sister that she was going to be taking her double-recliner couch back within the next month. I hadn't expected her to need it so soon, since school doesn't start 'til the end of August. But the lease on her new apartment starts the first of June, and she and Dad want to start moving stuff in over the course of the summer (each time he goes on a fishing trip, in other words). So by them taking our main seating in the living room, we need to buy new stuff. And quick.

So on Tuesday Aaron and I headed to Rapid City because they have quite a few furniture stores. We went to the first one we found, hopped in, and were a little overwhelmed at ALL THE FURNITURE. I've never been furniture shopping in my life where I was the one making decisions. We wandered around for a bit, and a sales person asked us if he could help us with anything. We told him what we were looking for, and he pointed us in the direction we needed to go, and said he'd check on us in a few minutes.

A few minutes later he was back, like he said, and spent the next two hours with us, trying to find just the right thing that would fit into our perfectly square 16' x 16' living room. We found a love seat and chair with a matching ottoman, and a recliner that complimented the colors of the rest of the furniture. They're going to ship it to us on Tuesday, which means tomorrow (or any time before Tuesday, but tomorrow works best) we need to get the living room cleared of the current couches.

It was darn exciting. And not having to haul new furniture into our apartment is a plus! I'm glad we got the delivery option, and no interest for 3 years. I feel like I'm slowly growing up, but I sure don't feel like a grown up yet. I'll give it a few more years.

odd

(I accidentally posted this on my Photo Blog the other day instead of here. Whoops. This post is for May 6th.)

I was looking at my Stat Counter thingie to see who'd been visiting me over the last couple of days on my blog, and found someone from Bosler, Wyoming has been looking on here...I don't know anyone from Bosler, but it's funny, because there's a song by Jalan Crossland called "Bosler" and it's one of my favorites by him...

Coincidental.

Work was ridiculously busy tonight because it was Cinco de Mayo (sp?) and a lot of people were in town for the weekend, but I think also - anyone who was staying in our hotel was kinda stuck because it was pouring rain for HOURS all day. Not just a sprinkle, just a downpour for most of the day, and a lot of the previous night. Granted, we need the moisture, but we don't need so much at once that we get any flash flooding. Yikes.
